Allison Hanigan is a licensed therapist with specialized experience supporting individuals and families impacted by brain injury. As part of the Brain Injury Medicine of Seattle team, Allison works closely with patients navigating the cognitive, emotional, and relational changes that can follow concussions, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurologic conditions.

Allison provides trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy tailored to the unique needs of brain injury patients. Her work focuses on helping patients manage symptoms such as emotional dysregulation, anxiety, mood changes, identity shifts, and the strain brain injury can place on relationships, work, and daily functioning. She understands that brain injury affects not only the brain, but the whole person, and her care reflects that holistic perspective.

She is trained in multiple therapeutic modalities that are particularly effective for neurologic and trauma-related conditions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Lifespan Integration, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and attachment-based approaches. These methods support nervous system regulation, trauma processing, and improved cognitive and emotional resilience, which are critical components of brain injury recovery.

Allison takes a collaborative, patient-centered approach, working alongside the medical and rehabilitation team to ensure care is integrated and aligned with each patient’s broader treatment plan. She creates a supportive, affirming space where patients feel understood, validated, and empowered as they move forward in their recovery.
